How are you? It's a rhetorical question. Really.

Blistering hot sun, little to no wind, dust stirring at every passing car or cattle and people were clustering under every shade they could find. Some under trees, many on the shop verandas, and markets.

A normal day in Seaqaqa.

I was there today to take photos of the town and its people and I saw a man who challenged me.

In the heat of the midday sun, a physically challenged man struggled to make it to the market where his friends were. Jandals so thin. Sweat pouring down his head onto his tshirt. Walking stick barely holding him up, he trudged on till he reached his friends at the market.

He sank down and took deep breaths. He relished the cool that finally being under the shade brought him. Aaaaah rest and respite.

We rush around doing life, sometimes taking the simple things like being able-bodied for granted.

Look after yourself. Care for your hands; massage your tired feet; go to the gym if you have to, do what needs to be done, thank your body for keeping it together and bearing with you.

Self-care is not only emotional or spiritual - without the physical, the other 2 will not mean anything.
